    How do I get to Flachau? 

    Flachau - located in Snow Space Salzburg - has the magic touch. This is shown in winter by the ski area’s perfectly groomed slopes and in the summer months by the many opportunities it offers to active vacationers coming to the area. And on top of it all, there are the wonderful mountain panoramas and the genuine Austrian hospitality at every time of the year.

    Your travel options

    The location directly on the A10 Tauern motorway and close to the towns of Radstadt and St. Johann, which are easy to reach by train, makes Flachau an ideal destination for holidaymakers and day visitors.

    Arriving by car

    Getting to Flachau is easy and uncomplicated thanks to its location directly on the Austrian motorway network. You can reach Flachau in several ways - depending on which direction you come from:

    • Coming from Vienna: Autobahn A1 - exit A10 / E55 towards Villach / Salzburg Süd - exit E66 Flachau Wagrain
    • Coming from Munich: Autobahn A8 towards Salzburg - junction Salzburg A1 / A10 towards Villach / Salzburg Süd - exit E66 Flachau Wagrain
    • Arrival from Carinthia, Italy and Slovenia: Tauern Autobahn A10 - exit E66 Flachau Wagrain
    • Arrival from Graz: Autobahn A9 - exit 69 Selzthal - Ennstal federal road B320 towards Radstadt, Schladming, Liezen - Altenmarkt B320 - towards Wagrain on the B163
    • Coming from Zell am See: federal road 311 to St. Johann im Pongau - B163 to Wagrain

    Tips for a smooth journey by car

    • Vignette obligation: If you are arriving via an Austrian motorway, you need a motorway vignette. You can buy these digitally at any border crossing, as well as at petrol stations and tobacconists
    • Rescue alley: If there is a traffic jam, please form an emergency alley to enable the emergency vehicles to move forward quickly

    Arriving by train

    You can reach Flachau by train without any traffic jams, easily and comfortably. For example, use the "Radstadt" train station, about twelve kilometers from Flachau. For the rest of the way, we recommend public transport or a local taxi company.

    Arriving by bus

    Flachau is super connected to the public transport network, which greatly simplifies travel by public transport.

    Tip: Simply enter "Flachau center" as the destination in the ÖBB timetable information - the corresponding stop is in the immediate vicinity of the Starjet 1 valley station.

    Arriving by plane

    Salzburg Airport is located almost 70 kilometers from Flachau and is the closest airport. From the airport in Munich the trip to Flachau takes just over 2 hours. Look forward to an uncomplicated journey by taxi or a hotel shuttle service.
