Climbing Tuesday
“Climb for all you're worth” - that's the motto every Tuesday on the Geisterberg in St. Johann.
Adventurous youngsters and climbing beginners aged 12 and over climb Drachi's via ferrata on the 40-metre-high Drachenwand under the guidance of a state-certified mountain guide. Interesting tips and tricks for the adept handling of climbing equipment and the necessary safety are included.

Services included:
- Adventure mountain ticket Geisterberg
(1x ascent & descent with the Alpendorf cable car incl) - 1/2 day guided via ferrata tour with a state-certified mountain guide
- Ticket price: from 45 €
optionally bookable:
- Via ferrata equipment consisting of helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set.
Meeting point: Alpendorf Gondola valley station at 9:00 am with mountain guide Sepp Schiefer. Followed by the fitting of the via ferrata equipment in SnowWorld.
Duration: Approx. 5 hours
Equipment & clothing: Sturdy shoes and outdoor clothing, drink, light food.
Age recommendation: 12 to 16 years
Important information on climbing the via ferrata
- Use the climbing wall at your own risk - we accept no liability!
- The climbing wall on the Geisterberg can be reached via the Drachenweg (approx. 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the Buchauhütte).
- Recommended minimum age 12 years - there are certainly several climbing points with difficulty C (scale from A to F) and an exposed rope bridge on the climb.
- Good condition, sure-footedness and alpine experience are required for a safe climb.
- Children and adolescents only accompanied by an experienced supervisor - we recommend one adult per child.
- Experience in handling safety equipment is mandatory for the accompanying person!
- The safety equipment (rockfall helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set) can be hired in the SnowWorld sports shop (at the valley station of the Alpendorf gondola lift), as well as at the Intersport Kerschbaumer in St. Johann - there is NO rental of safety equipment at the cash desk of the Alpendorf gondola lift or directly on the mountain !
